Very light climbing skis with fix skins. It can be used with your Splitboard Setup and solid board pucks on your regular Snowboard, which you would carry best horizontal between your backpack and back.
Advantages are, that you can use different shapes for touring, better performance because the board is not split, very fast change between climbing mode and riding mode, much less weight on your feet to drag, easier switchbacks with the light and short skis and a better edge hold.
The very best way to use them is with modern ski touring boots like the Atomic Backland, where you can get modification kits from Phantom snow industries to make them feel like Softboots. Key-equipment is a french brand that makes Snowboard specific light touring boots with tech system as well. Like that you have basically no weight on your feet and more precise performance going uphill with the tech bindings. When it comes to the binding for the board, we like best the Spark Dyno Downhill combined with the solid board pucks.
